Tile
Here's the tile floor. Bob designed the pattern (not a lot of patterns for rectangular tile) and the holes you see will be filled in. It's a slight upgrade from the sheet vinyl that was there before. Tile Guy left his levels there so we could see that everything was even.

Sunmer reading
All the big bookstores have a summer reading program for kids....you log x number of books, and then you can bring your log sheet in and get a free book from a preselected group. Parker started the summer really well, with independent reading nearly every day, but with all the remodel chaos, she's slacked off a bit.
At the bookstore:
She was clearly not excited by the selection, even though there were a couple decent choices. I convinced her to get a Ramona book, which she is enjoying, but she would have much preferred something from the display right next to the display of the freebies. But haha Borders, your bait and switch didn't work on me. We got our freebie book and nothing else (mainly thanks to Parker's attitude).
Don't miss the outfit: Big green glitter flip flops make from a craft kit, black rubber ankle bracelet w/ skulls from the dentist's toy bin and a blue plaid scarf tied around her waist, with the ends hanging down in the back to make a tail.
Kitchen Progress
Today they installed 2 of the 3 faucets and some of the tile. It is so strange to have running water in those rooms that I'm afraid to use the sinks. Hopefully with in the next week we'll have the disposal done and all the appliances in. That will make a HUGE difference in the quality of life around here.

Granite install
Let there be light,cobbler
Here's a picture of the cobbler i made in the toaster oven the other day. I'm really missing my oven, and I couldn't let summer go by w/out making a baked peach dessert somehow. I used cinnamon tortillas for the 'crust' and it was quite tasty. The Blue Bell Vanilla didn't hurt either.

Pool tournament
round 1
Bob v. High school kid
****BREAKING NEWS*****
Bob won 2nd place in the pool tournament! He received a cash prize of $16.
4th of July neighborhood parade
Festivities begin.
Love the homespun parade. Drum line, classic cars, people on riding mowers, decorated golf carts, someone on horseback and lots of kids on bikes. Parker noticed none of it, she more concerned with catching the candy they were throwing.

End of school party
Relay race: plastic egg on a spoon
Group pic
These are the tshirts that I made for the class. I was really pleased with how they turned out. The design is a little hard to see, but it's supposed to look a little bit like a passport stamp. I have the school name and year and a "k" for kindergarten going around the edge. The week before, we passed them around and they all signed the backs of each. It will be a nice keepsake they can wear for a while (some longer than others).

Another tie dye pic
I just noticed this one and thought I'd post it. We got a good laugh from this shirt. The yellow swirl in the middle looks a lot like a caterpillar, and it has 3 red spots that look like eyes, and a scowling mouth.

Attack of the Armenian cucumbers
Make them stop!
These looked like a great idea when I saw them on someone elses's blog last year, but they have TAKEN OVER my garden world. About every other day I look underneath the vines and find a zeppelin. They are like normal cucumbers and look like flowers when you slice them because of the ridges. They are much less watery than normal cucumbers, and milder...I've read they're a melon relative, which makes sense. Too bad most of them are potentially mulch.
