Spring Break Skiing

So much for chronological order.  Here are some pictures that I'm finally posting from out trip to Durango, CO for spring break.  This was Parker's first time to ski!

First day, returning from ski school.  They make them carry their own skis.

Bob and Parker on the lift.  Bob is an EXPERT at the group lift picture.

Going downhill.  She holds her right hand out in a weird way when she's turning.

That's me, further down.  We had a few rough hours on the second day, when she was skiing on the real slopes and not the bunny hill.  We figured out that she was most comfortable skiing behind me and following my tracks, and NOT receiving any tips.

She picked it up very quickly and was the leader from then on out...a fast transition from being the follower, to the one that we were chasing down the hill.

Video soon.

Happy Easter

''

I've been made aware that my blog followers have noticed a lack of pictures lately. I've been busy learning to use my camera and software - hopefully now that my online classes are finished, I can get back to regular posting. Here's a happy easter picture. Parker had a friend over to dye eggs.

New ski helmet

In preparation for our family ski trip, we got Parker a helmet.  She's found that it has magical hair flattening abilities, which she consideres a good thing, so she wears it a lot.

Daddy Daughter project: valentines box

Nothing these two love more than covering a box.  For Parker's valentines box for school, she stacked 2 shoeboxes and then they covered it with duct tape and then decorated it.  Bob even let Parker help some.

Daddy/Daughter Dance pics

Tonight was the PTA sponsered Daddy/Daughter dance at school.  Last year they had a 50's theme, but this year they went back to dressing up.  It was a Hollywood theme, and since it's always boiling hot after the dancing starts, I told Bob he didn't have to wear a suit.

Getting ready:

Notice that I let her wear a small wedge heel.  She was SO THRILLED.  Apparently she can run in them too.

As usual, Bob spent a LOT of time chatting with other dads, who were also ditched by their dates.  Must work on "stay with the one who brought you" for next year.

By the end of the day, she had accumulated this outfit.  Bikini top, cardigan, tulle skirt, slippers and a bow made of duct tape.

Notice anything missing from the couch?

Bob!  He finally woke up without fever for the first time in 5 days.

And here's a Parker homework pic too.

sunday's pictures

Artsy picture of soup bowl.  Bob has the flu, he's had fever since Friday.  Yes, he got the flu shot - in fact, I'm pretty sure he contracted the flu bug AT THE SAME PLACE where he got his flu shot.

New birds this morning.  What are these?  They look like finches with striped chests.  They're very social and don't mind eating together.  The chicadees wait in line and eat one at a time.

Homework that was saved until today.  This is entirely my fault I'm told, since I didn't inform her yesterday that it was saturday, and that today would be sunday.

Her cursive is wonderful.  Must be a recessive gene.

Doing some coloring for a "brain break"
